Situated upon one of the most breathtaking pieces of property that you’ll ever see is one of the most spectacular courses you’ll ever play, designed by one of the most humble men you’ll ever meet. The very first day that Arnold Palmer gazed out across the Shallotte River, he remarked that this site had the potential to be something very special. He assigned one of his top project managers, Erik Larsen, to the job and the result is sensational.
At Rivers Edge, experience playing on the same grass on which the pros play. We are one of only two courses in the Myrtle Beach area that feature Paspalum grass greens. The 2012 PGA Championship was played on Paspalum Greens.
Six of the holes at Rivers Edge Golf Club sit high upon bluffs that overlook two miles of grassy marshlands bisected by the bends and turns of the Shallotte River. The interior holes at Rivers Edge are equally stunning with gentle elevation changes, freshwater lakes and Paspalum greens. GOLF MAGAZINE ranked it among “Top New Courses You Can Play” in 2000, in 2008 and 2010 ranked it among “The Best Courses Near You.”

They played and evaluated a select group of courses and each course was rated on design variety, shot values, memorability and esthetics. “Since opening in the fall of 1999, Rivers Edge has provided an outstanding golfing experience for our guests and we are excited that the Golf Digest judges have taken note of our beautiful riverfront course and challenging layout,” said Skip Blythe, managing partner of Rivers Edge Golf Club.
“THE COURSE IS A JEWEL.”
“The Arnold Palmer designed layout is excellent and the various tees make the course a challenge for all levels of golfers. Our group, many of whom had been to Myrtle Beach on previous occasions, all put the course on the “must play” list when they returned again to the area.
